About This Spot

Stepping into Tony's Pizza Shop feels like coming home to a cherished neighborhood spot where the pace slows just enough to savor the simple pleasure of a good meal shared with familiar faces. Nestled on Main Street in Akron, this unpretentious eatery welcomes you with a warmth that doesn’t rush—a place where friendliness lingers in the air almost as much as the comforting smell of freshly baked pizza.

The atmosphere is easygoing and familiar, with the hum of low conversations and the occasional clatter of dishes setting a relaxed backdrop for casual gatherings or a spontaneous stop on a quiet evening. It’s the kind of spot that invites you to settle in comfortably, whether you’re popping in close to closing time or lingering amid the steady flow of locals who appreciate its steady, no-frills charm.

The offerings here feel rooted in tradition but made with thoughtful care: pizzas with a unique square cut that lend themselves perfectly to shared bites, wings seasoned with quiet confidence, and ingredients that carry a straightforward honesty in each bite. It’s not just about what's on the plate, but the rituals of passing slices around the table, the ease of conversation, and the subtle yet genuine satisfaction of a reliably good meal in a place that knows its rhythm.

While some may note the occasional wait or the practical cash-only policy, these particulars serve as gentle reminders that Tony’s operates with a down-to-earth spirit focused on quality and community rather than flash. For those who find their way here—whether locals or visitors drawn off the road—the experience is less about the perfect outing and more about the welcoming embrace of an eatery that feels warmly, quietly familiar and genuinely steady over the years.

We came in close to closing time and they were so patient with us, even when we had problems with the atmosphere! Plus I love square cut pizza! thank you

Ok, so I need to give you some context for this review. I am from Pittsburgh, my wife is from Akron. We live in Pittsburgh. Being together 13 years i have had pizza and wings from all over the Buffalo NY area when we visit family. With that being said I can say Tonys medium wings are the best in western NY, yes better than Anchor Bar and Duffs. When we visit Akron I have to have these wings! NOW with that said, here is the reality, they are very expensive, and their pizza is maybe average at best. My wife likes the calzones, i just want the wings. So in the end I cant reccomend the pizza, however the medium wings, and i stress medium, are the best around, expensive, yes, but well worth it in my opinion.

The pizza was pretty good, everyone was happy with it. Was more expensive than we planned on. We were told an hour from the time we ordered on the phone, and it was longer than that but we waited comfortably. Would order here again because it was close by. Important Note: they accept cash only.

Best pizza around! I would rather drive a few minutes further to get pizza that ALWAYS tastes great. Always worth the trip! Quality ingredients consistently

Tried their pizza for the first time yesterday and will definitely return again for another. It’s a family owned business that’s been around for a long time, the type I like to support. Fresh dough, a traditional pizza oven, and just the right amount of everything, prepared by hand. Also enjoyed my conversation with the polite gentleman that took my order and made the pizza. The best part is I fed my family without dirtying a plate at home for five dollars per person, with leftovers. Can’t beat that!
